What Is One Trauma?

Founded by trauma specialist Rosalien Stagg, One Trauma is a unique therapy practice that focuses not on the traumas that we experience, but on the emotions that they generate. We have helped many clients heal the negative emotions without having to relive the traumas associated with them.

The Founder

Who Is Rosalien Stagg?

Rosalien Stagg, the creator of the Heartbeat Trauma Release method, is no stranger to trauma. She was born deaf, and although she gained the gift of hearing through surgery at the age of 5, it was not easy for her to adapt to life as a hearing person. As a teenager, she struggled with anorexia nervosa and addiction. She has dedicated her adult life to helping people whose traumatic experiences have resulted in negative feelings and emotions that hold them back from living the life they want. She has many years of experience as a certified wellness counsellor, international life coach, and clinical traumatologist. To read more of Rosalien’s story, click here.

Who Are Our Specialists?

The One Trauma specialists have been selected for their combination of education, skills, and life experiences. They come from a variety of professional backgrounds, including psychology and life coaching. They have successfully worked with people who have experienced traumas ranging from sexual abuse to loss of a close friend or family member.

Trauma and recovery are highly sensitive areas that impact multiple areas of our lives. We want you to be comfortable with your choice to work with us. Healing does not have to be painful

Traditional treatment of trauma-related mental illnesses is based on the notion that we have to relive that trauma by talking about it with someone we barely know. This can create new emotional injuries and retraumatize you if the therapist is not the right fit for you. In addition, you may not want to share your deepest, most personal experiences – or you may feel that you just cannot talk about them. HTR gives you a way of healing from the emotions arising from the trauma, without having to delve into the trauma itself.

Healing does not have to take a long time

One of the big drawbacks of talk therapy is that you may not see results for a long time, if ever. This is because certain emotional responses are tied to specific traumatic events. It can take weeks, months, or even years to uncover or heal from the trauma that resulted in the issues you are trying to address. There are questions as to whether this is necessary, though. If you break your leg, your healing is not going to be determined by how you broke your leg. Why should our emotions be any different? HTR immediately expels the negative emotions without you consciously speaking about them or reliving the traumas that caused them.

Healing does not have to be inconvenient

If the COVID-19 pandemic taught us one thing, it is that we should not be reliant on in-person interactions for our mental and emotional healing. On the contrary, the use of digital technologies has made mental health treatment infinitely more accessible than it used to be. It is the goal of One Trauma to help anybody who needs to be helped. It may surprise you to know that many people have traumas in their past that they are not even aware of. Take a moment to ask yourself this question: what is trauma? Quite simply, it is any event that leads to negative uncontrollable emotions, which in turn can result in dysfunctional relationships,

inability to set or achieve goals, and in some cases, physical illness. A lot of people do not recognize their life experiences as traumas, and as a result, they never seek the help they need to heal.
